Monterey Pop Festival var ein musikkfestival som fann stad 16. til 18. juni 1967 i Monterey i California i USA. Det korrekte namnet på festivalen er Monterey International Pop Music Festival. Festivalen vert sett på som den aller fyrste reelle rockefestivalen og vart retningsgjevande for andre og seinare festivalar.

Festivalen fekk omtrent 200 000 besøkjande. Til forskjell frå Woodstockfestivalen, som vart halden to år seinare, opptredde alle musikarane gratis og gav pengane dei tente vidare til velgjerd.

Festivalen var det fyrste store gjennombrotet for mange av musikarane, og vart deira plattform for seinare suksess: Jimi Hendrix fekk gjennombrotet som soloartist i USA her, likeså Janis Joplin, som den gong var songar i gruppa Big Brother and the Holding Company. Soulsongaren Otis Redding, som omkom i ei flyulykke seinare same år, slo gjennom hos det kvite rock-interesserte publikumet gjennom den legendariske konserten sin på denne festivalen. Til og med Beach Boys skulle ha medverka her, men innstilte i siste augneblink - den offisielle grunngjevinga var problem knytt til Carl Wilson si militærnekting. Den britiske songaren Donovan, som skulle ha spelt på festivalen, fekk ikkje innreiseløyve til USA grunna ein arrestasjon for bruk av marihuana. Blant andre som derimot var til stades, fann ein The Animals, The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Simon and Garfunkel og The Who.
