«Yellow Submarine» er ein song frå 1966 av The Beatles, tilskriven Lennon/McCartney, men skriven av Paul McCartney. Songen vart gjeve ut på albumet Revolver og vart tittelsongen til filmen med same namn i 1968. Yellow Submarine er òg namnet på filmmusikken frå filmen, som er ein del av musikkatalogen til The Beatles.


Songen vart betre motteken i Storbritannia og Europa enn i USA. Singelen gjekk til topps både i heimlandet og i Noreg (11 veker, sju veker på førsteplassen av VG-lista) og vann ein Ivor Novello Award for høgaste salstal for singlar i Storbritannia for 1966.

Inspirasjon og innspeling |


McCartney fann inspirasjon heime hos kjærasten Jane Asher sine foreldre[1] då han ønskte å lage ein barnesong som Ringo Starr kunne synge.


Songen vart produsert av George Martin og gjort ferdig på fem forsøk den 26. mai 1966 i Abbey Road Studios. 1. juni vart det lagt på spesialeffektar.[2] På den andre dagen vart studioet reinska for alt som kunne nyttast til spesialeffektar, som kjeder, ei skipsklokke, fløyter og eit kasseapparat, som seinare vart nytta av Pink Floyd på deira «Money»[3]
