Tom Paxton i 2007

Thomas Richard Paxton (fødd 31. oktober 1937 i Chicago, Illinois) er ein amerikansk musikar, folkesongar og låtskriver. Han er mest kjent for songar som «What Did You Learn In School Today?», «Annie's Going To Sing Her Song», «The Last Thing on My Mind», «I Can't Help But Wonder Where I'm Bound», «Going to the Zoo», og dessutan «I Give You the Morning».

Paxtons songar har vorte brukt av Pete Seeger, The Weavers, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Doc Watson, Harry Belafonte, Peter, Paul and Mary, The Carter Family, The Kingston Trio, Chad Mitchell Trio, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash (med Diana Trask), Harry Belafonte, Portar Wagoner, Eric Andersen, Willie Nelson, Flatt & Scruggs, The Fireballs, Plácido Domingo, Arlo Guthrie, Nanci Griffith, Marianne Faithfull, Chet Atkins, Glen Campbell, Neil Diamond, Gene Clark, Gram Parsons, Rick Danko, Mary Hopkin, Marie Fredriksson, Joe Dassin, The Pogues, The Seekers, Fred Åkerström og ei rekkje andre.
