Trying to recognize a cipher
$begingroup$
I am working on an online scavenger hunt that I think is way over my head. Wanted to ask here for hints before admitting defeat. Basically I have a series of coded text that when decoded will lead me to the next part of the scavenger hunt. Its a series of numbers and mixed case letters separated by dashes looking something like: " i1V7R-YT50-4QtO- " etc etc. The number of characters between each dash is variable. Any ideas what cipher method is being used? I'm almost positive that there is no key needed for this type of cipher.
