Austkystrap er ei kjenning for hiphop-musikk frå den nordaustlege delen av USA, og då hovudsakleg New York. Musikken her er som regel samplebasert med tekstmessig og/eller teknisk komplisert rapping over. Sidan det var i dette området hiphop starta, reknast austkystrappen som den mest «ekte» av subsjangrane[treng kjelde].
